define the phrase | motion graphic (2019)
 

In an effort to create a motion graphic strengthening my typographic skills, I came up with the idea from a random phrase generator online. I thought it would be a creative challenge to design compositions that illustrate well-known phrases such as “back to square one” and “jack of all trades” — a real challenge it truly was. When storyboarding and style framing, I went though many iterations as one does and many different phrases. 

 

The main takeaway from this piece was that I was able to integrate my styleframes allowing me to be more efficient when animating in After Effects but also testing my hand in my design skills.
